Funky Jack’s Beanstalk

Plant the bean seeds and watch the  Funky Jack’s Beanstalk grow and grow.  Tall beanstalks with lots of scarlet flowers and runner beans.   The variety is called Scarlet Emperor.  The Funky Jack’s Beanstalk is easy for children to grow.    Plant beans two or three to a pot and transplant into the garden later.  Also the beans can be planted directly into the soil.   The beanstalk needs supporting and can be grown in a row.  Alternatively you can grow in a wigwam shape.  The bean pods themselves will grow to about 30cm in length.  Which leaves us just to mention ….. fee-fi-fo-fum – watch out for the giants!

Yellow Giant Sweetcorn

A very reliable sweet-sweetcorn called Bountiful.  Grows large cobs and crops well, even in our less than wonderful British summers.   The stalks grow up to 2.5m high, so they really are giant sized.  The Yellow Giant Sweetcorn is a great fun veg (although some say fruit)  and good on the barbie too.
